Operation Just Because / Tchotchke making

Scrabble tile magnets

As part of Operation Just Because, I made Scrabble tile magnets as a small housewarming present for a friend.

These are super easy. Scrabble tiles, E6000 glue, ceramic magnets. Done.

Nevertheless, some lessons learned.

1. E6000 is a better glue than hot glue. How do I know this? I dropped a cookie sheet full of magnets on the floor. The ones made with hot glue fell apart; the ones made with E6000 stayed together.

2. Ceramic magnets are better than the super strong ones. I made two with the super-strong magnets and after the glue was dry (confession: they were hot-glued, so maybe this would be different had I used E6000), they came too close to each other and the magnets popped off.
