Cleaning up

[Updated.]

Not my apartment. Though I need to do that desperately. (Well, more decluttering, etc, as I did a good vacuum/sweep/dust last week.)

1. I’m getting rid trying to get rid of my blogroll for the time being. I want to spend some time thinking about who to link to, and why. I have no timeline for when this will get done, so “for the time being” could very well end up be “forever.” Hopefully not, but you’ve seen how little progress I’ve made on my 35 by 35 list. (Heck, I haven’t even figured out 35 things to put on the projects-to-complete list, though I’m sure I have at least that many!) I’m apparently too stupid to figure out how to get rid of the blogroll without actually deleting all of my links. Anyone able to help? Please?

2. Even though I’m still working on that 35 by 35 list (February 17 is rapidly approaching!), and I’ve started Project Vegetable, and I have another blog, I’m also starting a new project for the new year. (I’m not normally one to make a big deal of the new year, but I had this idea and it just seems like a good time to start.) Every month I am going to pick a friend (maybe at random? maybe another way?) and give or send them a gift. This is aside from any other gift-sending, such as birthdays and hospital stays and new babies and holidays. If you can think of a good/clever/snappy (any of the three) name for this project, please share.

  2. I did the same thing and am pondering the same thing for my blog roll. Let’s see if I can explain this… In your ‘Appearance’ menu you should see on the left hand side a widget for your links. If you look at the bottom of your page you should see an area called “inactive widgets” and you should be able to drag your “links” to that area until you decide what to do. I have so many blogs I read, so many I keep up with, and it’s hard to keep an accurate list. I also come and go with some blogs, so I don’t want to add them unless they really resonate with me. Tricky stuff, for sure!
