I mentioned that I’m knitting socks. I might say that it’s for Socktober, but there is no way that they will be done this month. They’re cute, but not as cute as my sweater, or as the blankets I’m knitting, so they don’t get priority. Just commuter-knitting status.
That doesn’t mean that I’m not celebrating Socktober as a knitter should.
I went shopping the other night for some needed toiletry items (one should never have fewer than two bottles of shampoo, for example, lest one run out unexpectedly, and I was down to to one bottle of shampoo, one bottle of body wash, and, well, you get the picture). While I was out it struck me–
There’s a DSW in the mall where the Tar-jay is, and my comfy shoes are a little less than comfy, and my comfiest shoes aren’t really so great to wear to work, so NEW SHOES HERE I COME!
What does this have to do with Socktober, though, you ask? Simple: I looked only at shoes that would highlight handknit socks.
And thus armed with new comfy shoes, I can celebrate Socktober in style.
